Pat Quinn’s Shortsightedness February 2, 2006

As the Leafs continue to play a mediocre style of hockey in which they’ve been able to cling onto the 8th and final spot in the playoffs, I’m reminded of a current Nashville Predator player whom Pat Quinn let go on waivers to the Chicago Blackhawks back in October of 1999.  This player is Steve Sullivan. I remember watching Sullivan when he was playing for Toronto and I thought that this guy had the potential to becoming one of the top forwards in the league.  This has come true as he has become one of Nashville’s star players with 45 points, 25 of which are goals.  If Quinn wasn’t so shortsighted, Sullivan would still be in a Leafs uniform as the number one goal scorer and second on the list in points behind Bryan McCabe.  I’m still mad at Quinn for such a stupid move.  IDIOT!
